Working together we can make a difference in the lives of all differently-abled citizens. Barriers to living, learning, and working come in many forms, both seen and unseen. The Opening Books project seeks to make important historic, literary, and archival resources accessible to everyone in our community. This website is also designed to offer maximum accessiblity to visitors using assistive browsing technology such text-only readers and voice readers. Other features include:
- Access Key navigation that does not require the use of a mouse;
- Non-fixed font sizes that allow easy enlargement;
- Separation of content from graphics for text-only reading;
- Text descriptions of important graphic elements;
- Accessible forms for visually impared visitors.
Your Opening Books project can incorporate audio and text features that will make your collection more widely accessible.
